Huertas College Workforce Training Program

Huertas College and the Institute for Building Technology and Safety (IBTS) have 1,280 financial aid available for candidates interested in training in a career successful in the construction industry of Puerto Rico. The financial aid is possible thanks to the financing of the Grant Program in Block for Community Development for Disaster Recovery in Puerto Rico (CDBG-DR). The purpose of the resources is to help organizations offer programs educational programs that train individuals to rebuild the Island after Hurricane Maria.

To qualify, prospective students must:

  1. 1. Identity Check
    • 17 yrs. or older
    • US citizenship (Passport as evidence or birth certificate) and driver’s license
  2. 2. Income Verification
    • Income self-certification (included in the program application)
    • Copy of utility bill (water, electricity, telephone).
  3. 3. Interview with the Huertas College Workforce Training Program.

Classes are offered during the day, evening, and on weekends!

Individuals who qualify for financial aid will be trained in one of nine (9) specialized courses associated with the construction field, and two (2) certificate programs.
